【Excel2 axis graph】How to create a graph with axes up, down, left and right in Excel

【Excel 2 axis graph】 I introduce how to make a graph with axes on the top, bottom, left and right in Excel with images!

In order to present the experiment, I forgot when I tried to make a graph with scale on the top, bottom, left and right after a long absence.

It took me about an hour to find out how to do it, so I’ll put it together as a blog post.

The chart formats presented vary by school and field, so check and create them!

If you create a graph with the software “Kaleida Graph” that I learned recently, you can write a beautiful graph with one shot (although it is expensive).

Kaleida Graph (Hulinks HP)

Preparation of 2-axis graph (most important)

Prepare the data. Basically, the left axis is the X axis and the right is the Y axis.

Copy the contents of the Y axis to create a dummy column.

Select a table and select a chart from Insert. The point at this time is to select an extra range in a row unexpectedly on the X axis and the Y axis.

This time, I selected “Scatterplot”.

Click “+” at the top right of the graph to erase elements that you don’t need. If it is not displayed, drag the graph to come out.

Add axes up, down, left, and right

Double-click in the graph to “Format” on the right, so select “Series” from “Options”.

If you select the bar chart mark from the series options and change the “Principal Axis” to “Second Axis”, the axis will appear on the right side.

Click “+” in the graph and check the box of “Second horizontal axis” from the arrow to the right of “Axis” to get the axis.

If it is a 2-axis graph, the numbers of the left and right scale are different, but this time the numbers are the same, so align the numbers.

Click the number to set the boundary values → “Axis Options” → “Axis Options”

Click the number in the graph to change the “Axis Options” → bar chart mark → “Tick” → “Scale Type” inward. Do the same elsewhere.

Adjust axis color, etc. (easy to forget)

Let’s say you forget to make the right vertical axis inward, but you change everything inward.

Click the number part of the part you do not need and select “Axis Options”→, “Label” → “None”.

When it is not a 2-axis graph, the top and right are erased, so there is no problem.

If you select the number part and press Delete, the scale line will also disappear along with the number, so be careful.

Select the remaining numbers to black the axis and text color (for some reason the default is gray)

Select black → “Axis Options” → the bucket mark → “Fill” → “Axis” and “Line (solid color)”.

Changed the color of “Character Options” → “Fill Text” → black.

So is the numbers below. Be careful because this is quite forgetting!

The color of the axis label is also slightly black for some reason, so I adjust it.

Click the axis label to change the color of “Text Options” → “Fill Text” → black.

Right-click on the re-struck axis label and select “Font”.

Change the font to the specified font and “OK”.

Now that you’ve changed the axis, it’s time to edit the plot.

Change plot

Next, you’ll adjust the plot on the graph.

Click the plot to select the size of the shape with the bucket mark → the “Marker Options” → “Built in”.

Scroll down to set “Fill” and “Border”.

Is black hollow common? You can also change it by clicking on only one plot.

Change the options of the series and another point is to remove fills and lines.

Finally, select the entire graph and complete the graph without filling and bordering.
